With seven radio stations locally, we directly target your business message to our listeners. With the only local radio station, MORE FM, 89.5FM for Wairarapa and 105.9 for Coastal – MORE FM has the region covered from farmers to beach goers. Our network stations include 95.1 The ROCK, 98.3 RadioLIVE, 93.5 The Sound and 105.5 Magic FM, 95.9 The Edge and 99.9 The Breeze.

Mediaworks Wairarapa has seven staff including local account managers, local promotions staff and announcers based in our Masterton Office (Kuripuni).

Mediaworks Wairarapa have many success stories around the region, from advertising big events to school gala’s and helping businesses to achieve their business goals.

Mediaworks Wairarapa is the only local commercial station dedicated to getting it right the first time.

Provide another employer with mentoring regarding effective youth-friendly practice.

Please note: volunteer/work placements designated with an asterix * tend to lend themselves well to the License 2 Work (L2W) programme. This is encouraged by YETE. For further information about L2W is available here.


Short Term Tasters

Attend a one-off work experience opportunities in a business e.g. half day/full day/two days

* Rangatahi to Mahi (R2M) – (youth to work)

Attend a placement for 1/day/week over a minimum of 5 months for youth with a business that you have a strong interest in. This placement includes License to Work (L2W) and the possibility of full or part time employment at the end of the placement.


* Ongoing

Attend a work experience placement in a business in an ongoing manner e.g. 5 days in a row/ 1 day/week for a school Term or Year

* Gateway/Dual Pathways 3+2

Talk to your school/tertiary provider about spending part of each week (from 1-4 days) in the workplace learning industry related skills and qualifications (which are often assessed in the workplace)

Part Time Employment

This could be after school, in the holiday period, or during the school day (school and whānau approval required)
